I run a Texas Star DX500 with a Pyramid PS 52 KX. I think it is 48 amps constant or peak. Will handle whatever I through at it in AM mode but when I go to SSB I must turn the amp down or it trips out the supply. So for less stress on the power supply I should be using something like 70 amps constant. 40 amps should be perfect for your 2 pill maybe a little less if no SSB. I really wanna play so I'm saving up for a supply in the 100 to 200 amp range. Preferably 220 volts AC. Go big now so if one day you find a deal on say like an 8 pill mobile amp you will be ready! |
