I had noise problems with my 2003 F-350 with the 7.3 Powerstroke. I had alternator noise, injector pulse noise, wiper noise and a/c fan noise. I had the truck well grounded based on info gathered here, but the noise was still there, not real bad, but enough to bug me. I bought some of the ferrite snap chokes today, and I will attest that all of the noise is gone, except the fan noise, and it is now only about half as bad, and only on the high setting........everything else is GONE! I snapped one on the coax where it plugs into the radio, and one on the power leads at the radio. I may try doubleing them up just to see if it knocks the fan noise out completely. I am a very happy camper! As far as my radio hobby (addiction) goes, this is the best $11.00 I've spent. Just wanted to let those of you who have similar problems know, that it really works! |

How do you wind thick coax throught that though? Also, do they make ferrite chokes wider and that do not require bends of the cable? Thanks |

The one's I used are from a cell phone store that used to be a radio store. I did'nt see the one's I used, here at Copper's. They are about an inch, to inch and a half long, and snap on the coax or power wire. The hole is the same size as the coax on my Wilson 5000. I have also seen elsewhere, some that fit rg-8 or 213 type as well. I wil check Copper's site again to see if they have the one's I used. |

yes: with "toy diesel's" make alot of rf noise. choke works realy good. the next step would be a "coax supply" if you're still getting a lil noise i'd go there. or bigger nb. |
