Congratulations. Get on the air, build an antenna both ground plane and a beam and see what you can do. The Tech license has loads of fun to be had. But hey, don't stop there. Work on the General and see what is out there in hf dx. No need to rush but stay in the study mode so the process adds to itself. Once you get the license and get on the air lots of the book work makes more sense anyway. Enjoy amateur radio and welcome!! 73, de KB5LPA |

Dixie and I liking Ham Radio a lot, it reminds us of the good old day of CB(11 meter)back when you had to be license for it. We will never give up CB but the looks of it we won't be on CB as much anymore as over the years CB has gone to the trash can for the most, Now don't get me wrong there are still a lot of good folks on CB. Ham on the other hand is a lot more cleaner and why anyone of any age can get a license if they pass the test for witch class of license they want. I only been a Ham for less then 6 months and my wife Dixie less then a month and we both have really been enjoying it. We even joined a local Ham Club Lakeland ARC located in Lakeland,Florida there repeater is 146.685 Neg Offset PL 127.3 I just passed the Level 1 of The ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Course and now studying Level 2 of a 3 Level Course. By passing level 1 I'm also now apart of the Lakeland,Fl Emergency Communication Team. With all this said I think you get the idea we like and enjoy Ham radio for what little time we been into and I have gone a little long way with it to only move forward. Thanks for letting me share this with you and also I like to thank Cadilac for bring up this question on how folks have been enjoying Ham Radio?
