No amp in mind just wondered if this was right!! I do not do not believe in mod. kits in a radio or amp. Figure that if factory thought it needed it would have put it in. Like power chip for a pickup!! What we have seen will not last as long and with the cost of things we look for life not wam!! |

i don't know about a "reg" but you could squeez more out of a amp more than the "pills are rated for" it will run hotter & kill the amp faster. i find there's alot of posers out there. the best thing to do is see & or hear one that's been pump-up by the "tec" that did the work. the other disadvantage is that you must keep transmissions realy short. |

500 watts out of a messenger 250? Keep your stuff away from that guy man! The custom amps do more watts because they are built like tanks and have fans inside to keep them cool. Just regular amps like Texas Stars, Palomars and such will only spew harmonics and sound awful if you try to drive more out than what they are designed for. Don't count on any of those amps lasting very long after that guy gets a hold of them.73 |

you'll see almost 500. just like the 1969, it's rated @ 25 & will almost goto 50. but not for long.... heat kills. you are realy better off just getting a 500 if that's want you want. but it is kind of fun eating a 450 with a 200... |

A regulator controls voltage and a coil is an inductor.I dont see the conection. You remove the regulator in most things and it wont last long.Sounds like thats what he was after. |

Sounds like hes talking about taking out the regulation of the input voltage that the amp was made to run at and just letting all the voltage you can feed to it go into the transistors. The question is what transistors hes talking about doing it to and can they take the raw voltage increase. The only point I can think of for the coil is to keep the rf from feeding back into the powersupply voltage. |
