Hi all. I like to get a meter that reads SWR, and can handle at least 1000 watts. I see alot of people not say alot of good things about DOSY. So is there another brand and model that copper sells that you would recommend? base, mobile, doesn't really matter. Just looking for accuracy. Thanks.

James, Bought a workman meter new with power, modulation & swr last summer I used to set the match on my moble. works ok BUT the heat in the mobile loosened the cheap glue they used to glue on the covers over the adjustment knobs.

I am looking for a used autek meter, they are supposed to be good. I might check the on line auctions (might)/LOL. I might have to break down and get a new one.

I think Lon has one? maybe not.

Airplane1,

Yes we do have the Autec WM1 Standard (1986 model) and also the newer one with the Remote Head (2005).

They are +\- 1% compaired to any bird meter we have checked them against and FAR less money.

Good? NAWWWWWWWWW they are GREAT!

i have a diamond SX100 at the base & palstar wm150r for the mobile-the remote unit allows use of 1 less long jumper. while the palstar isn't great for setting low dead keys like the autek research wm1 would be, it works just fine in setting amps dead key....turn radio watts to 'Ø' & adjust til amp key is where you want it. then you can watch fwd & reflect watts move as you go under bridges, past big trucks, etc
