I have a Cobra 18 WX ST ll and when i have the cd player on with a cd in it playing i will get a lot of static in the radio, but when the cd player is off there is no static. What can i do to fix that |

Knappy, not sure why that is happening, sounds strange to me. Maybe its the laser in the cd player causing the static? You may need to use a power line filter to the Cobra. Copper has them. You may also want to make sure the static is coming in through the power line to the Cobra first and not through your antenna or coax. Easiest way to determine that is to disconnect your coax from your radio, if the static is still present then it is probably being induced through your power line to the Cobra. If the static goes away with the antenna disconnected then the interference is being induced through either the coax or the antenna itself. Hope this helps some.
