ok, i have a killer bee dx250 hdv that has been working flawlessly for the last year! i have driven it with a tuned up 2950, a tuned up uniden washington, and with my latest aquisition, a super tuned president jackson! it has worked greak all along!.................until.........about an hour ago, i was especialy long winded on the key, i noticed after unkeying the radio that the amp was still keyed, and the pills are getting hot even when the radio is not keyed!!!

i have the schematics for it (exact same as the texas star dx250 hdv) but cant figure out what component has failed???

any ideas???

thanks

Maybe the keying transistor(s) in the liner. Just a thought though.

2n2907 or associated cap/resistor or diode allowing relay RL1 to stick. or the relay itself maybe.

did it ever 'unkey'? transistors should not get hot when radio is not keyed...unless amp is sticking in xmit.
