Anyone know where to get soft 14 gage bare copper wire to use as replacement wire on my PDL-2? Thanks, AP |

What you really want is called Copperweld wire. It is 14ga. copper over a steel wire core (so it doesn't stretch). It is available from AES and very inexpensive. |

Airplane1, There is no need to pre-stretch the Copperweld wire as Tech833 mentioned in his post above. Just cut the length you need and install it. They tell you to stretch the original wire to make sure it will stay tight when you install it which helps to prevent it from stretching at a later date where you would need to take your antenna down and re-stretch it to keep it tight. I tried looking in a PDL-2 instruction manual, but, nothing written on how many watts the gamma will take. Maybe Airplane1 might know if he sees this thread. |

Hi, Sorry I did not see this post. I was told it will take 2000 watts by two people that have them.I never seen it in writing on the instructions or antwhere so I dont know for certain. maybe a tech on here might know for sure but the matching system is pretty heavy duty in my opinion. If it is in good or new condition and good price then buy the pdl-2 even if you wont be using it or if it. They are bringing a high price on auction sites so you can maybe make a profit. AP I |
