I just aquired the famous K40 processor. I wired it according to booklet, but on my Cobra 200, it keys the radio, but with a 1 second delay, and there is no modulation. I tried the adjustment on the back of the mic, and no change. The booklet that came with the mic is too old to have the Cobra 200 listed, but I used the 29GTL, wiring, could there be a difference? Does the capacitor take time to charge? The mic is NIB/old stock.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Bigfoot,

Did you ever get to the bottom of this K40 mic issuse??

I have exactly the same situation, I want to wire my K40 to my Cobra 148GTL-DX.

I understand that a Diode and resistor have to be added inside the transceiver to supply voltage down one of the mic pins, I believe the yellow wire on the K40 is used for this???

If anyone has information please let us know.

Best regards,

Alex CEF 607.
