Please bear with me, this i going to be a novel by the time I am done. I need input on this and some may want to start the "why would you do that to a 2995DX"? If that happens I hope the mods just shut the thread down and I'll move on! I prefer this to be technical please! OK to start with we , or I, know that by switching off the amplifier section relay that the radio, on mine any way, only keys about .6 watts and swings to about 5. From what I gather is that the single 1969 final is only being fed 5.5 volts to drive the 2290s. Is the true? Now on to the RF power adjustment on the front of the radio. Is there anyway to replace the current potentionmeter to one that has a built in off position. This way in the off position I can use it to turn off the Amp section. If the single final is being fed 5.5 volts can I add a relay to the replaced RF power Potentiometer, so that in the off positon it feeds the final 8 volts so I can at least drive a small driver amp with it (4watts swinging 12). I like the idea of the versatility with this setup . The drivers and what they drive with this setup would be endless in my book. Appreciate the help!! CEF260 |

i will be compleatly honest with you what you are trying to do is definutly posible, actuially i have done sompthing similiar with my saturn turbo, i used the tone controll spot and replaced it with a on off switch for the amp and a high power peak adj. as well it only adjusts the power from the amp section and the origonal rf power adjusts the dead key on the radio section, actuially i am curently working on a similiar idea for my new cobra 200 gtl dx and i am adding a recieve amp to it. |
