KL 400 has a AM-SSB switch, so, probably not for FM mode. Going to guess that the KLV 200 will DK 50-70 watts. |

I'm pretty sure you can use it in FM mode. Amps usually have a switch for AM-FM \ SSB. I have transmitted FM a few times with my Texas Star 500 with no problems. |

Thank you Hotwire, I looked in my instructions for my KL500 and it says for AM,FM,CW and SSB so I would think the others are the same. AP |

Just about any amplifier will work with FM mode, if it works at all. It takes a good amplifier, that is truly linear, to work properly amplitude modulated modes (am,dsb, ssb). |

I got my friend a copper catalog and he is like a kid in a candy store. I told him he can get the best prices at copper. He is thinking of a small amp from them. he only needs 35-50 watts. |

Yeah he can choose from base amps to running a KL 200p or bigger with a power supply. My KL 200p DK's 40 watts/ 3 watt input from radio. The KLV 200 you speak about in your orignal post is a tube base amp. |

Airplane I just gave one of my friends an old Copper catalog also. He's like wow I love this underground stuff! Well I told him not really underground but when people have the secret to the best prices, service and info in the country they tend to keep it to themselves and laugh at those who spend to much. I could have bought my Texas Star at the local shop. Instead I bought it from Copper and the extra cash I saved bought me an Astatic 600 SWR meter. I still had cash left over and went out for a Chinese dinner for 2! Copper RULES! COPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPER COPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPERCOPPER |
