Hi all. Today, I was listening to KPH broadcasting from the original Marconi site, first time since 1941. While scanning around, I thought I would pop over to the CEF net 11m freq. and see what was happening. I was getting a HUGE carrier going on and off in a CW fashion from 27.125, so I tune up a bit. Normally, on 27.125, I copy the AOH beacon sending A O H in MCW at around 7 WPM, although it barely moves the S-meter here. HOWEVER... Today, I was copying a signal FULL SCALE sening regular CW at about 7 WPM with the message: "dont go away mad just go away" over, and over, and over. It was sending for over an hour. Does anyone know who this was or where it was? I Would like to QSL it. Thanks! |

833 I heard that also, it was bleeding on Texas two to three channels up and down, but I did not notice it to be CW, even though I was just passing thru and did not stop and pay attention. |

I was on the band too 833 almost all evening and heard nothing like that. Conditions picked up from the west and I even made some contacts on 14 and nobody said anything about it. Kenny Indiana |

Unless you have a receiver with a BFO, it would have just looked like a dead carrier keying and unkeying quickly. It was NOT modulated in any way, it was PURE old fashion CW. |

Why would somebody do that? What is the purpose and what do you think the person was trying to do or who was he trying to QSO with? |

The purpose??? Fun? Not sure. It sure made me laugh out loud! AOH has been on the air for many years, so maybe this is someone that heard AOH was was trying to make a point? Either way, this was really funny. I sure wish I knew who it was so I could QSL it! We SWL types really get a kick out of getting rare QSL cards from stations. Hams call it 'wallpaper'. Shortwave listeners call them trophies. |

I have already QSL'ed AOH, I was hoping someone knew who this other beacon belonged to. Like I said, it was sending in unmodulated carrier wave , regular old CW. The message was "dont go away mad just go away" repeated over and over for at least an hour before it faded out. |
