Hi Team, enviromental pressures have forced lead free solder into the electrical/electronics industry and of course our hobby.Has or will this extra cost to the manufacture have an effect on the future purchase price of our next piece of equipment?

John,
It shouldnt add any more cost to manufactureing, price is about equal to the 60/40 electronic and 50/50 general use tin/lead solders.lead-free has been required here for several years for plumbing/potable waterlines. What I have noticed about the new folmulas is the higher temps required to flow the "safe solders".
