Oh and Palomars are auto switching from SSB to AM. I am sure the KL series amps are great or better, but just personal preference. |

Roninboricua, My personal choice would be the KL-300P. It is smaller in size with the same performance and is easy to attach to the radio with Velcro which takes up less room and makes it very easy to remove if you need to take your radio out. We use a W90-30012 TP-10-2 Quick Disconnect For Mobile Amplifiers and Radios $ 2.99 to supply power to the radio and KL-300P which makes it nice only having a single power connection for both. Can you hook up two amps to the same antenna? Meaning, lets say I buy two KL-300, hook up a Y with short jumpers, from the radio to the amps and then a backwards Y with short jumpers, from the amps the antenna coax? That would double the output right? Or would it be distorted in any way? If it does work it would be more cost effective. |

Roninboricua, I have never tried that or knew anyone that has, but I can't see how that would work. Just guessing I would think this would damage one or both amps and who knows what else. I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't do it. |
