Would it be a waste to have 2 low pass filters inline or just stick with one for tvi problems?

Boxcar,

I have personally never found any reason or need to have more than 1 single TVI (Low Pass) filter connected directly to each radio by a Double Male connector in the past.

To me it would be a waste time and money and would add another item in line.

The more equipment/connections a person has in line the more chances a person has for problems.

Hope this helps,

Lon

Thanks Lon! I am in the midst of grounding everything out real good for the neighbors can hear me on occasion so just wanted to ask about the filters. I have read up on your grounding post so I got some good info there. I do have one question, when you run the ground wires outside, do you have to have a certain length to NOT go over. Like 8-10 feet opposed to 15-20 feet?

Boxcar,

Right now I am a little under 36" from the ployphasers to the outside ground rod.

Hope this helps,

CB freq the copper ground wire should be
less than 9 ft. The shorter the better.

Hey Lon,
Are you using solid copper ground rods or plated? I've been looking for solid copper for the past two weeks and coming up empty here. Not sure where to find these at. No hardware stores like menard's, home depot or lowe's has them as solid copper. Hmm? Oh well. Just thought I'd ask real quick.
