Well, it won't be long before the new Copper mic will be here and the high powered Magnums. (Since this part of the forum is all but dead, I thought I'd stir some conversation.) How many of you plan on getting either the mic or one of the high powered Magnums and what will they replace? I'll be one of the first on the list for the mic. I'll use it with my DM-452 on my Magnum Omega=Force S-45. May, just may replace Galaxy DX 95T with High powered Magnum S-9, we'll wait and read the reviews. Mikefromms |

Note This Topic has been moved here from the Open Forum Since this Question / Topic covers BOTH the JCD-201M DESK TOP COMPRESSOR MICROPHONE and the Magnum Radios it was moved to this area since it is not just a Microphone Question or Mobile Radio Question. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Now to asnswer both Questions, YES, will will have 2 of the JCD-201M DESK TOP COMPRESSOR MICROPHONE's with plenty of Jumpers for both of them to cover ALL CB, Export and Ham radios manufactured at this time. We have been using one for the last 6 or 8 weeks on the Sunday CEF Radio Club Nets with GREAT RESULTS and POSITIVE FEEDBACK from other CEF Radio Club Members we have talked with. As for the High Powered Magnum Radios, we may order 1 of the S-3-80 watt models when they are released. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

I definitely would like to have the mic with a jumper for every radio I own> However not knowing the price it may prove to be cost prohibitive.

Wayne, YES, it will work on Both Radios. You will need to order a 4 pin Jumper for the 2980 and a 6 Pin Jumper for your 2995. WHen you place your order be sure to tell them WHAT JUMPERS you need and for What Model of Radio. 1 - Jumper will be included with the Mic and you will need to tell them what Radio/Pinout you need it wired for and then you can purchase Extra Jumpers for for what ever model or brand or Pin configurations you need. All of this information and Much more can be found on the JCD-201M Microphone found by going to: Ask The Tech » Microphone Questions » Does the Compression Desk Mic Come Out This Month OR Ask The Tech » Microphone Questions » JCD-201M DESK TOP COMPRESSION MICROPHONE Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

808 has sounded FINE here, hotwire! i've heard him while i've been base & mobile, & i've heard lon with it on different radios. only one time since he's been using it has the noise been SO BAD that i could not pull him out so effortlessly. 'Patzerozero! You need all the help you can get!'-why do people tell me that? |

I'd like one, but it may be awhile, like maybe Christmas if I have not gotten any CB equipment and the wife a CPA forgets about the pile of receipts with Copper on them, if not then it may be a few more years. But never fear I have all the stuff here that I have been collecting from Copper grab bags, Chester(the local electronic parts store), and things I had to make a one of a kind RatMade compressed, equalised, reverbirized, Turbo Echo, Roger beep, recording/playback, Super Duper trouble making, foot control, hand control, finger control, locking power Mic.. The cost is a little more than Coppers, and it will be in a large aluminum box roughly the size of a Cobra 2000, but it's going to talk, and you won't even know it's me. I am taking orders now, delivery in the next decade, maybe the second, but after I get done with my other project the RatMade Gonna need those Nuke Power Plants Jeb hide in a Bush, dim the lights in Central Florida Hi-Drive got a room of it's own amplifier. What was your question? WildRat CEF674 EGCCCNC ( There's my letters after my Signature) If interested it stands for: East Gulf Coast Cheese Cutter Net Controller Beat That! Yes, I feel good this AM! Back hurts, but my mind is alive with the sound of Music! Yes, I'm going now! |

The $$$ Mic can wait for now for my needs. SEND ME A MAGNUM! Yet ANOTHER local buddy picked up a 95T and tied it to a new wilson5000. It does truly sound great. Local tech peaked it to 180 and was instructed NO CLIPPING...that made the difference in much cleaner audio over the other CLIPPED version running around town. Also got my first earful of a new Cobra200...sounded nice and clean out of the box doing around 80w jacked to a workman silver salute desk mic. I'm jealous and CHOMPING at the bit for either HiPo S9! ALL I'll need to know is if Magnum worked on that noise blanker thing. The static that made it into my recieve was the reason for my letting it go originally...well that and an offer I could'nt refuse.:P For a base unit it was great but in the mobile I could'nt tolorate the noise. NO other radio is or was so noisey in my Jeep. Still not sure which NEW version will suit my needs more...80w or 175w. That 80w would make a SWEET modulator for my smaller 4 pill. ...then again I'd be willing to bet the 175 version would shoot DX as good as my current 4pill! Perhaps the 175 stand alone while the cycle is down and save for a BIGpill OR if DX stays low long enough we'll have enough saved for a pill...who knows. I'll need prices to help me think! TOO easy to get carried away here! OH...to answer the original question.."YES" for another Magnum |

Hotwire is starting to think. He sees into the future and knows us RATS are going to rule. He is starting to try and make friends with us, that will be good though, we RATS need friends. If it were not for friends, us RATS would not have meat to eat even if it is stringy, rangy tast'n human. We preferred the Martians for dinner, they were a bit more tender, and they tasted like chicken, Neptunian chicken that is. |
