Paul / Tech833 or anyone, I was given 1000 foot roll of stainless steel wire not shur of the gage , measured with caliper .078 dia. Question is will it make a good dipole wire? Moderator 136 CEF 136 kc0svc |

Hal, any specs on it's tensil strengh?I'm sure it would be tougher than 14awg copper..078 would be excellent for constructing quad elements also.be sure to pre-stretch it before you cut it to a measured resonate length.It should work just fine. Dennis/tech291 |

I use stainless wire for my antennas. It is perfect! Some people say you can only use copper, but that is horribly incorrect. Don't forget, signal travels over the surface of the conductor, not through it. Stainless is the preferred material for wire antennas. |

Thank you all Tech 833 sent some info to me and going to try.I was concerned about putting 300 ohm flat line and making the conections, u clamps that will work! Not to shur what to try first inverted or just a straight hoz dipole , going to make a 6 meter on the first try. Thanks again Moderator 136
