I had a D 104 that was noisy when I keyed it. Used very very fine sand paper to clean the contacts and fixed it. A hum could be a loose connector or some debris in the plug needs cleaned out. Hope I could help. Good luck. |

with the way those tabs are designed; after a while you can actually be connecting the transmit side before the receive side has unconnected. the fix is to slightly bend the offending tabs JUST enough so that the receive side is not touching when the tabs connect with the transmit side. its a very slight adjustment, so be careful. the tabs are in the base of the mic. you want a "break before make" connection. to clean the contacts (good idea) i use some 400 grit sand paper and spray some contact cleaner on it. does this all make sense? hope it helps, its a pretty common problem, matt |
