This meter is suppose to be pretty accurate. I am wondering how accurate it is when in the pep mode. Does anyone know if this meter is truthful in pep mode or is it a little liberal with it's reading's?

Wildrat,

The extensive electronics in the WM1 incorporates true peak detectors accurate to 0.1% using op-amps.

From the Autek Site.

Hope this helps,

OK, I was just wondering, my 4 pillbox is doing 1.4 peak, I wonder if I am over driving it. I have the S9 turned all the way down with the top gun off.

Lon,
I have put a couple of different meters behind my box and they read 1.5 when I'm modulating. The Autek barely moves and at the most reads 1.2. How does your Autek respond? Is it like that because of the computing part. I think I might call Autek too, they are here in Florida not too far away.

I called the fella at Autek. We talked for a few and he told me how to ck the SWR mtr. So when I got of the phone and ck'd it. I guess my SWR is as good as it appears. I am just not accustomed to seeing the SWR this way, except for when I did my Chevelle wagon. SWR was really low on that vehicle also, but I did put some time into it also, making sure grounds and connections were all good and clean. Lon if you don't have the instructions for your Autek and would like a copy, I could scan them and Email them to you if you like. When you got yours was it the lighted one or the non-lighted one.

Wildrat,

My Autek WM-1 (Lighted/Remote Head) has always been 100% accurate as was my older WM-1 that I used to have.

I had the original WM-1 and now have the Lighted WM-1 with the Remote Head. And Yes I still have the original Owners Manual but Thanks for the offer.
