how about that new pyramid 85 amp supply...anyone seen this monster, maybe copper will get them, i know ******* has them but god awful high and such. still pretty nice though. |

haven't seen any below the high $400's, but have heard they suffer the same problems as the astron 70 amp supplies do from time to time-when you just turn them on, the LARGE power surge blows the fuse/throws the breaker. there is a review on 'em somewhere that also questions the true output & that it is probably closer to the mid 50's continuous & surges into the 70's trip it. if where you saw it also sells the turbo ps 70 & 140, the polished diamond plate case, i've heard the 70 in use & it seems to be alright. DON"T power a radio with it, though, it is made for custom amps that'll take some volts, not even sure if TS will handle it. they claim it drops volts UNDER load, but you HAVE to key up 1st, right? so it IS going to see high volts momentarily. |
