you do not have to switch the crystal unless you want to go all the way down to 26.175. to do the normal 26.815-28.045 you dont need to change the crystal. most likely, your pin 10 is not isolated like it is in a 2000gtl, so you will have to cut the foil traces on either side of it. take a look at pin 10; most likely there is a fat foil trace running right through it. CAREFULLY cut those foil traces to and from the pin so it is totally isolated. then wire one wire from your SPST switch to the pin and the other wire to PC board ground. try to keep this wire close to the PLL chip. look at the foil trace you just cut away from pin 10. follow it until you run into a spot that you can solder the ground wire from your pin 10 switch to. does this all make sense? SW.1- one wire to pin 11, one wire to pin 12. sw.2- one wire to pin 10, one wire to PC board ground. (the biggest foil trace on the solder side of the PC board. not the metal casing of the radio) good luck and cut carefully, matt |
