On the mod you provided on the TR-696 base, where do I get a {SPST]? and is that all I need for this mod....and how do I change those frequencies?

SPST - single pole/single throw ?

I think that would be a switch with two prongs, where one would be like 'hot' and the other would be the one that the 'hot' single would travel to once the switch was flipped.

Rat Shack would be a good starting place...

hope you can read that, best i could do.

correct, chop! SPST has 2 tabs only & it's used on these radios to 'open' the 'disabled from the factory' logic change to the PLL. in regular 148/XL radios, you have to change voltage, ground, etc to PLL. this radio has it done already, but to legalize it, they disabled it. the switches just take out the 'disable'.

that's all the mod is, Wrk-a switch that 'opens' a circuit & your channels are there!
