Purplehaze, Anything used is only worth what "YOU" want to pay or are willing to pay for it. Personally I would figure around $5.00 to $10.00 a section if it is in good shape and it is Down and in Sections. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Chad, Just drive up here to Bloomington/Normal or around Champaign on a weekend and start driving around and you should be able to find plenty of towers that will be FREE for just taking them down. Most everyone around here has went to cable tv or satallite and the way homes are selling the new owners do not want them and the ones selling the house want them Removed. Heck I even called all of the Realators around and they have our number and SUGGEST the people selling the House call us to have them removed. When Hal or Tech291 comes back for a vist they will notice 10 less towers on the way to my house that I have taken down for FREE including 8 Rohn 25G towers at at average of 30' to 40' each and 2 Rohn 45G towers = 90' total. Heck I even offerd to give Tech291 3 Sections of like new rohn 25G to take home and he did not need it. So I have it hidden as backup behind the bushes where the 1st Sargant cannot see it. Homeboy CEF #159 and Redman CEF #156 were roofers and found maybe 50 towers in the last couple of years for FREE to take down. And I would just be guessing but Trutle CEF #165 probably has well over 100' of Rohn 25G and maybe 60 or 70' of Rohn 45G laying in his yard that was also FREE for the taking. When the 1st Sargant and I drive around we look for towers and if we see no antennas on them we stop and leave a card or talk to them and most everyone lets us have them just for taking them down and getting them out of thier yards. I learned a long time ago he who sits back and waits / wishes for something to come along may be wishing/waiting forever. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

I went "country shopping" not too long ago but most have DSS dishes on them. I found a guy in Peoria though who takes them down often and I have pals there to visit I may run around Champaign soon. Ground is frozen now as you know but it will give me time to prep it. Hope the push up gets me thru the winter. It has taken a beating out here in the country! Chad |

Dang Lon, I see towers down here being used for security lights, and they are few and far between. Makes me sick, just want to tell em I'll gladly put up a utility pole for the light if they let me have the tower. Next time you have one lay'n around, I'd gladly pay for it and pay for it to be shipped to TN! Maybe I need to place an add for removal of un-wanted, unsightly towers. Maybe someone would call wanting to get rid of one........ CEF-443
