I've been using this combo for quite sometime now and as those who own the s-3, it has a high swr warning light. I take my radio out of the truck daily but leave the antenna on. When I hooked the radio up today, the swr light was blinking. I looked for the obvious but I noticed when I touched the stud on the astatic, the warning stopped. ( bad ground maybe?). I then noticed when I went around the channels, it also stopped blinking from channel 10 to 1 then started blinking again from 40 back to 11. I was in some pretty serious rain the night before and thought maybe some moisture got in between the stud somehow? If anyone has any imput, please reply. Thanks spydy FedEx Freight |

It could be possible that moisture got under the insulator, but I doubt it. Check your coax to be sure it hasn't been damaged when you were connecting or disconnecting the radio. |

thanks moonraker, when I took the stinger out, and turned it upside down, some water did fall out. I think you're right about the coax, sometimes it sticks when I screw it in the radio side and it seems to be all the way in. I think that was part of my problem also. Thanks again. spydy |
