Man...that ain't even right. Start off with bad solder joints. Get yourself a good magnifying glass and start looking. Once you've given up on that, move on to the freq board. It's probably bad. If so far this hasn't cured your problem, I would start checking cyrstals and capacitors...

, yes, his EXACT question was 'anybody had any experience with this problem?' in truth, i could HONESTLY have replied 'YES'. to resolve THAT & my OTHER galaxy issues at the time, i THREW IT OUT THE WINDOW at 60 mph....i don't think that was the answer he was looking to hear, so i backed off to allow calmer heads to prevail. at least duck246 & moonraker were calmer then me....

Hmmmm...funny...I don't remember leaving rolling faces and cheesy faces at you when you started at me about a S-9. You need to play pretty with all the other children...or go home!! You're just mad because I didn't take my S-9 and send it to you. |

That is NOT a common problem with a Galaxy. They do drift untill they get warmed up as do all radios. Id have a good tech check it out |

All of the Galaxy radios I've chatted with on SSB drift even when warm. I'll admit that those radios were older Galaxy radios, so I don't know if the new ones are better, but the older design drifted when they were cold, warm, hot and everywhere in between. I've heard folks attribute it to poor voltage regulation for the oscillator circuit, poor design, and cheap components, so I don't know exactly why, but it's a given that they drift and drift a lot. |

shoot; that's nothing, my old 88 freq counter blinks off and on for about 30 seconds or so, depending on temp - it's a good thing i was never in a hurry to talk |
