You would find one at the Rat Shack. I blew one awhile back. I think I put a 2 watt back in. I can't remember exactly. If I find the packaging for the diode,I will post it to you. I'll go look for it now and put it in the post.It looks like the rat shack number is 276-1114 pkg of three. It is 2.5 amps/1000volts. Make sure you get the polarity right when you install it. My radio was a Super Star 3900. The diode on mine was right near the power connector. Mine did not appear to be burnt but after taking it out, it ohmed bad.

if you walk into your local radio supply shop & ask for a 'reverse polarity protection diode', you should walk out with something like a 1N4003 that cost you about a quarter.

the 1 you blew should be OBVIOUS, & it either goes right across the + & - on the power socket inside your radio, or at least right from the + to a ground on the board directly underneath it.

adding my 2 cents worth,if your blowing the diode check to be sure your using the right size fuse.that is the purpose of the diode to create a short-circute situation when the polarity is reversed before any harm can come to the radio.

Always use a fuse! I use fuses in both the positive and negative lead.
