I just purchased an RCI 2995DX from Copper a couple of days ago. Do you have any information on unlocking the clarifier. The manual says that it can be easily done. Thanks for the information on the Euro 3900 also. |

I dont understand why anyone would want to do a TX clarifier mod to any RCI 2900 series. The radio already tunes in 100 hertz steps. Just my 2 cents. |

It is the only way that you know for sure that you and the party you are talking to are on the exact same frequency. Have you ever tried to listen to 2 stations and they are not on the same frequency. Drives me nuts turning the clarifier back and forth. If they both had their clairfier locked on transmit there would be no problem. Just my personal opinion. |

Some people want more resolution than 100Hz...Some dont want to have to "poke" the shift button and all that, while driving....And when opened, the clarifier only slides about 3KHz, not enough to "make the freq-display useless" as some have said. |

Do any of you know if the 2995DX and 2990DX are the same radio internally? If so, I can use the 2990 modification to open the clarifier. Phil |

Copperfan The link you posted is for the 2950DX. Is the information correct for the 2995DX? Thanks Phil |

Anyone who doesn't appreciate the seamless, smooth scrolling of a vfo type tuner, or next best thing, modified clarifier (yes transmit MUST move with receive)on a ssb cb type radio has obviously not spent much time working sideband. BTW I believe this was a request for a mod not an opinion. MY 2/100 dollar. |
