Hi just got back into radio again and came across a galaxy saturn at an estate auction, the radio works really well but I would like to add talk back to this radio, any ideas??? Thanks |

I know it can be done as I was going to have it done to my Saturn Turbo but if you run some power you may get feedback and a squeal. |

if its the same chassis as a 2950 (not DX) D78 is the diode that cuts the speaker off during TX. if you put a SPST switch inline with it; you can have switchable talkback. i am not a fan of it. i think it sounds bad, but try it if you want. i would unsolder the diode rather than just clipping it, so you can put it back if you dont like the results. sinker is right; they are prone to squeal with the talkback on. matt |

i believe its the same chassis as the rci 2980 i have owned bothe and they are nice rabios. still have the rci2980 .. good luck |

Try clipping or unsoldering one end of D-80 it's a red diode with a black circle around one end. It should have a R-204 just in front of it but it's not there don't worry. I know more ways but this is the easy-est. You can run the lifted end through a switch back to the hole where diode was lifted to turn it on & off. |
