Thought this might help out and thought I would share.
I was given a NEW Astatic 636L for my mobile.
Only problem was, it was 4 pin wired for Cobra.
Here is what you do.
1. Cut off the end of cord and re-strip all wires. There are six of them.
Wire it up like this...
Pin 1 ~ White (Audio)
Pin 2 ~ Shield and blue (Ground and common)
Pin 3 ~ Yellow
Pin 4 ~ Black
Pin 5 ~ Red
I don't know if the XL models are same pin configuration, but possible.
