OK, have the tower almost up and running coax now. I know from earlier responses from Tech833 and Tech808 that: (1) Polyphasers should be at coax point of entry. (2) It is OK to run 50' of coax after the Polyphaser to the radio. (3) Polyphaser should be as close to a ground as possible. So here is my problem. I am running the coax through my attic to the outside eve of my house. NOW do I run the coax down the outside wall to within 3' of the ground rod and install the PolyPhasers? OR Do I run the coax to the eve, install the PolyPhaser and run a ground strap down to the Ground Rod, this method will mean 9' from the ground rod that I will need to run Ground Strap? Not ideal I know but I have only this option on running the coax so one of these two installations will have to do or I could go half's I guess and stick them half way in between, halfway down the wall. I have searched and search the net, been to all the links and nothing SO I humbly ask for a quick reply as I wish to be up and running for the Sunday Net if possible but this is holding me up. Tech833 or Tech808 or anyone else - HOW ABOUT IT???? Thanks a million. Tim CEF-634 |

From what I have read sinker in my search on PP's 1) I don't see why you could not run 50' of coax after the PP, as it is taking the antenna out in case of a strike. 2) I thought you had your PP's already mounted. If not what I am going to do is mount my PP's about 18" off the ground and then down to the ground rod that I am going to hammer into the ground below the PP's box. My coax from the radio will either be coming out the wall near the PP box or out of the eave of the house down to the PP box. Hope that helps ya a little. P.S. you could move over to Clearwater then we could combine our efforts andbe dangerous. You might as well pick up Starface on your way thru Lakeland. Wildrat |
