Hello,
I noticed when I first hooked up my KLV 1000 to my Texas Ranger696FSSB. The SWR reads without the amp connected 1.2:1. With the amp connected SWR between radio and amp reads high 2:1. SWR between amp and antenna with amp on is 1.2:1. I was able to reduce the high SWR reading between the amp and radio to 1.0:1 by using a different length jumper should I let it go at that??? Or is there a problem with the tuning on the input circuit of the amp that needs to be corrected.
I do not want to blow my equipment!!

Thanks

Cornbrown,

If your SWR from your radio into the KLV1000 is a 1.0.1 and with an SWR reading of 1.2.1 going from the KLV1000 to the Antenna you should have NO Problems.

As long as you are not over driving the KLV1000 everything should work GREAT!

The only things that I do different from your setup above is that I use a TVI Filter connected directly to the TR696F SSB Base Radio via a Double Male Connector and then run my jumper from the TVI Filter to the KLV1000 and then a jumper from the KLV1000 to the Antenna switch where I have the IMAX, and both Vert & Horz feed lines from the Antennas connected.

I also have added Ground Wires from the MFJ 1700B Antenna Switch, Radio, TVI Filter and KLV1000 all connected to a single point ground connection.

Hope this helps,

Lon
