Cross your fingers for me I should have my tower up this weekend. The tower itself should be up around 90 to 95 ft and the Imax will be over 100 ft in the air at the base. Here's are question to test your experience and knowledge of antennas and signal gain: If my antenna is 40 ft higher at the base point than it was at it's base point before how many more s-unit should I see, say...to a station that used to put just a 1 s-unit on me. What do you think and when I have the tower up I'll give it a test run and see who was the closest! I'll say 1 s-unit to kick things off. Have fun Mikefromms |

If you live in open tundra then you win,but if you have many obstructions at 50 feet and none at 90 then it could be much more than that,it won't make any difference to close-in stations but to those as far as 90 miles it could mean 3 s-units because of distant obstructions.Bigbob |

How in the heck do you construct a tower? Anyone know any links to websites for this? |

Crackshot, I've found a few at times but never saved them and it would take me a while to relocate them. Try a google search and see what you come up with. Speaking of towers, a local i talk to every now and then knows where i can get 3 sections at $10 a section and will sell me the top section for another $30.. only thing is, the 3 sections are still erected and part of a 4 section tower. The owner only wants one section and the top section remaining and for me to install a TV antenna on top when I'm done. So, I may be a tower monkey before to long. CEF-443 Middle TN Coyote |
