A VERY GOOD READ Indeed. OK, I have the Maco V-5000. I have used Ox-Guard and a light abrasive pad with Corrosion-X on it and scrubbed down every surface I possibly could along with as far inside the tubes as I possibly could. I then went ahead and sprayed it all with the Corrosion-X over the light residue of the Ox-Guard. Brother-N-Law was supposed to come over so I started to put this bad boy together. Took down the old antenna so I could have the Cable to hook up and tune the new antenna but NO bro-n-law. So I have the antenna all put together except for the last ground radial- it is on 20' of antenna mast with two Guy Rope rings - Guy ropes are attached and rolled up out of the way, Ground wire is attached, LMR-400 Coax is attached. All I need it one person to help me get the sucker up on the roof and on top of the 5' mast that is in the Tri-Pod. I had the 20' mast and antenna leaning against the roof and was going to go ahead and attach the last radial and tune it and then wait till tomorrow to put it on the roof but got concerned the wind might blow it over tonight or that the weather wouldn't hold tomorrow. So - I thought better of it and decided to wait for help as all of you have suggested - but it's killing me.... May have to work the net tomorrow from my Truck. Tim CEF-634 |
