how much does tower sections usually cost. I am trying to figure out what to use next since my 50 foot pole with guy wires and my Antron got destroyed last year during hurricane season. Also what can you use for guy wire, besides guy wire? Wildrat |

If you can find one you can use a free standing tower that does not require guy wires. I can't tell you that a hurricane won't take it down, but you won't have the problems that guy wires present during bad weather. |

Wildrat I used to have to go to St. Pete every three months when I lived in California for work. I have been hunting for towers myself. Found some I could have but none have been worth taking down. Found a nice 30' tower for $60.00 and a 50' winch tower but they wanted $800.00 for it but it went to 20' when nested. I am hoping to get a winch tower that I can but a beam on with a omni above it. I will take my time on this part as I sure want to do it right and it is going to cost as well. Right now I have to worry about getting the Maco put together and up. I still make trips to Orlando, Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital every week for my son. I take different routes looking for and inquiring about towers I see that do not look to be used. I know a guy locally who has a 50' tower and is selling it but you have to take it down - long trip for you. Let me know if you want me to look into it for you. Tim CEF-634 |

Wildrat, new tower in our part of the country runs about $70 each for the top section and 5'hinge section and $60 for the 10' straight section.forget the brand but do remember it is not Rohn.in hurricane alley I wouldnt use any less than 3/16 galvanised or stainless wire-rope.about 1 set for each 20' of tower with SECURE anchor points.(check your local code). tech291 cef#291 kc8zpj
