im sticking my old driver amp on the table to retube it and i was wanting to know what would a good driver amp would be for my Dentron GLA-1000 ? Thanks !!! Allagator CEF115 |

Allagator, I have never used one before or know of anyone who has ever owend one so I would have no idea what to use. Why not ask the person you got the Dentron GLA-1000 from what they used to drive it with? Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Requires 125 watts drive max. I assume PEP. A 2 transistor amp with the variable control cut down to 4 watts or so will do around that. A one transistor variable may do what you need.A 2970 will do a good job hehe! If AM is what you normally use, a 2 tube Elkin amplifier is about the best, not great for SSB though. Any 150 watt PEP amp will do the job, IF you have carrier control on your radio AND you an lower the carrier enough to not overdrive the 6LQ6 tubes. |
