I think some time they get "lost in the system" or something. I have posted things before that never made it then a day later I would post the same thing again and POOF there it is! BTW, One more thing... Why is it that every one talks about how much power the 95T or turbo radios have? It makes no sense to me, all they are (literally) are a regular export (30 or so PEP) with a 2 pill amp strapped to the bottom!!! HMMMM? Let's make a comparison here: I could go out and buy a straight box truck (you know like a big U-haul) and spend so much money or I could buy a tractor trailer combo for more. What do we have? We have a straight truck (nothing really to say here) and We have a Nice comfy semi with WAY more room in the trailer!!!! AND THE BIG PICTURE: The semi is more flexible! I don't mean that the two bend at the king pin, I mean I can take that same truck and put a bigger trailer, or a smaller trailer, or a flat bed, or.... I am pretty much stuck with the straight truck! Basically I would rather have a realy good export radio and my choice of ANY amp I want so I can do ANYHTING I want!!! My choices would be limeted with the "high power" radios. Just a thought. BC |

compairing a 95T and a S9 to truck would be like this S9 = R Model Mack with a 4 valve 350, Looks pretty cool ,made to work ,and lots of room to build it into a nice truck. 95T = 379 long nose sig 600 cummins, it doesnt get any nicer, best looks ,most torque, and best of all, class! you can go with the r model if you want but I always tend to want the best, The Pete costs more but you get what you pay for,in the end all the S9 will see is the 95T's tail lights, LOL Bob. |

IF, EVEN IF i was into GALAXY radios & decided to purchase a 95t, its use of 2-2290's would ONLY be a good thing as it would help to drive my 8 pill. the power output of the RADIO is as unimportant as the # of leaves on a dead tree. my XL does less then 3 watts & YES i shiver in my boots when my buddy drives by with his 2 watt cobra 29. it's not the cobra that scares me but the 2-4cx15000A's sitting in the back seat. my S9 fears NO other radio i can always add a bigger box |

yay!!! Pat to the rescue!!! I guess he didn't get the point Any way, the point is, I can make a better station starting with an S9 than I could make with a 95T Period! no matter how much power either is putting out, reguardless of how they look or, what amp is in line the fact is, the S9 is a better designed radio! Power is power, I can get it any where, whether it is in a second box or not! The real choice to make is a choice for quality. BC |

I have been waiting 3 weeks for my Antenna. I finally called and found out it was on Back Order. Was supposed to be in the next week but still have not seen it or heard any word - disturbing.... Don't want to cancel the order and leave Copper with it so trying to be patient. Usually I am very patient guess it is the new stuff want it now thing - just wish they would have told me it was on Back Order and given a realistic date for delivery. |

Its like this. The S9 owners love to talk down to galaxy all the time,i just like to give a little back form time to time.Yes you can add a (csmall) box to any radio but most of the time it will not equal the performane that the 95Tor a Connex 4600 turbo has.And as far as a galaxy just being a export with a 2 pill on the bottom. An S9 is nothing more then a galaxy copy with a mod kit that has a on and off switch.I had an S9 for for 1 day and i could not tell any deference between a galaxy or a S9 so i went and got my money back. All im saying if your going to build a coppy you could have made it better rather than the same thing as a hopted up galaxy. They must not be as good as people say the are because you sure do see a lot of them (used)on ebay and at most shops! |

thankyou, bc, now onto the subject at hand... well then just consider me to be like 1 of those 'animal rescue' groups-SEND ME YOUR UNWANTED, UNLOVED MAGNUM RADIOS!!! actual output wattage of the radio-ANY RADIO-is immaterial! if adding an amp is not feasible for whatever reason, then settle for the (YUK) 95t. my S9 with a 2-2290 davemade keys 70 & swings 250 or my 2-2879 davemade keys 150 & swings 450. what did that just prove? other then it'll walk right past a dosy-measured 200 watt 95t-NOTHING. shops by me don't stock S9, only GALAXY because of higher markup, but e-auction RIGHT NOW has an M1 & S6 from magnum & 36 galaxy radios listed, CB's, exports, bases & mobiles-HOW DOES THAT POSSIBLY SAY-'They must not be as good as people say the are because you sure do see a lot of them (used)on ebay and at most shops!'?????? go to any 'earls clip 'n' snip cb shop' & they'll tell you how the magnum is a copy of galaxy & how much better galaxy is, etc. that's because of the cheaper cost(to earl), higher markup & ease with which a clip 'n' snip tuneup can be done for an additional $30 profit. go to a 'pro', including the shops that deal both galaxy & magnum, or REALLY look at what is going on inside a galaxy vs S9-don't just compare parts layout-& you'll see why the magnum is better. does that justify the cost difference? i buy chevy because i can't afford mercedes...the $300 cost of the S9 is justified in its performance. if 40 watts isn't enough, i won't buy a galaxy, but add on an amp.

There is always going to be a Better,Bigger,Badder,Radio out there. It's always going to cost more, do a little more than the old one. It's kinda like my old SuperStar 3900,it broke, so i went ahead and bought a S9. It fits all the Prerequisets, Better, Bigger, Badder, and it cost quite a bit more. So last night I go ahead and replace a diode in my 3900. Went out to the jeep this AM plugged in the watt and a half 3900, turned power on and it lit up. So I went to a local channel and caught someone, spoke to them a few minutes and got off. A little later I had the S9 hooked up for the first time, adjusted a couple of the knobs, got hold of the same guy. I did not tell him I was on the S9. I asked how I sounded, He said it was a little more scratchier than before. So I am sure I will get the scratchy out of the S9, It's just that 1 1/2 watt radio sounded better than that tuned up S9. I guess I should have got two 3900 and tuned them up. That S9 sure is pretty though. I repeat"SURE IS PRETTY" If what ya got is working, and stroking the waves, I suggest keeping your money, spend 20 bucks on some roses for your wife, and have a nice weekend. See Ya'll Wildrat |

Navyrebel... I don't think I would trade my 257 in on an S9. I may be crazy but the added features with the exception of power would not be used in my rig. The 257 will hook up to any amp, is more geared for actual 10M usage, has speech compression like the S9, has memory prestes, etc. I could not justify the added cost of an S9 when I could buy a VERY clean amp for the same price. I have had nothing but excellent reviews on the air on the sound of the 257, it's certainly a great radio. But them S9's sure doo look "Purdy!" Chad |

Be careful around those guys BC!!!! They have lots of stuff sure but hi priced. Not mentioning names but you know the owner? The blonde curly headed guy. He is the one who told me that the military confiscated all Imax 2000's and the public cannot get them anymore. The Connex 4800 at Copper is about $250. The 4800 there is $500,peak and tune included. Now when did hi end 10 meter exports need a peak and tune? Oh yeah do you remember when he use to say that he was the only one in the country to get the S9? Not telling you what to do Bc but be careful. That guy lost my business long ago! You may not be the best tech but if you are honest that counts for a lot. Also I can't stand to have my intelligence insulted. If you ever need a good tech I know a couple that put that other shop to shame. Have you ever heard of Poker chip? |

with the 'topgun' on, the S9 just might sound 'scratchier' to the unitiated when they are close to you. that is the nature of the 'compressor' circuitry in the radio. it helps much more over long distances than it does locally. you should be able to 'clean' it up a bit by playing with the mic gain. or, for local talking, shut off the topgun & turn the mic gain back up. you can still key 7-8-9 or more watts & swing close to 40 with it off. if you have any power mics around, experiment with 'em, & see which sounds good. trust me, YOU have to get the hang of 'tweaking' the knobs on the S9, then you will get the signal reports you want to hear! actually chad, i hate to admit it, but the omega force as well would be a viable alternative to the S9, in between the 257 & S9 in price & a combination of the toys on both! since magnummagnummagnummagnum doesn't have the same ring or flow, we WILL use the generic S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9to stand for ALL the super topgun magnums! |

Do you really think the 175 watt S-9 will go for $500 at Copper? The MSRP on the current model is about $400 I think and copper is selling it at $320. |

cobra 200 & 150 surprised me price-wise, but the price IS dropping & they are NOT selling like hotcakes! not that the $320 S9 is setting any sales records, but, yeah, i think the 175 watt model is gonna cause a few people to say OUCH! BUT I AM STILL WAITING, CHECKBOOK IN HAND!!! |

Guys, its all in good fun that i give you S9 owners a hard time! What is the big deal anyway? All i hear is that a S9 will key 1 or 2 watts and still swing to 40,big deal!My 95T or Connex 4600 turbo will key anywhere from 2 to 50 watts and still swing to 200+ and be clear as a bell and loud as hell!(thats why you all want the S9,to be loud right?)Could it be that the Galaxy or connex just costs a little more(got mine for $375.00 each) than some are willing to part with and thats why so many people have gotten on the S9 band wagon?Looks to me that after you get an S9 then a small 2 pill you would have more money invested than if you would have bought a radio that had the kind of power you were looking for in the first place!Like i said.I had my tech to let me use one of his new S9 to put side by side so i could see if there was any improvment over my 95T. Power....95T. Receive....Same signal + or - 1/2 s unit. noise level.....same. sound qualty....i got the same reports from a few of the locals about the scratchy sound of the S9.All reports were from people 5 to 10 miles away at around 3 in the am. looks....Thats kind of a tose up.Both have lighted displays, its all in what you like as far as that goes. The S9 just had a basic tune done to it.No clipping this or turning this as far as it would go.My tech works for the county repairing radios for fire, police, ems so he does in fact know what he is doing, unlike a lot of em out there.I know this was kinda of a back yard test but the results that i got told me that there was nothing special about the S9 and it did not seem to be any improvement over the Galaxy/Connex that i have.I wonder when the new Striker radios come out if it will be the same oh i gotta have one all over agian?Time will tell. If you guys like em then more power to you.I just dont think they live up to the hipe. Oh yeah...And as far as....well if i put my S9 with an amp i will walk all over that 95T goes.Put a 95T/48T or 4600 turbo with a big comp amp and put that S9 with the same size amp. What do you think the out come would be? |

S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9 & a 95t is still nothing but a 150 watt galaxy. if it's good for you, so be it. it ain't for me. don't get carried away with the STRYKER radios, they will be the NEW kid on the block...that is all they will be |
