Just wondering how many people have jumpered both Jp1 (Export mode) and JP3 (5kc mode) and what were the results. I tried it and got the following: Band A all 26mhz in 5/10 khz steps Band B all 27 mhz Band C all 28 mhz Band D 29mhz till 29.600. E to H only 29.6 on all channels. Not bad. No 25mhz but a bit more of 29 and solid 5khz or 10 steps including alpha channels. The channel readout is blanked out. I have kept it on this mode. Need to find a use for Bands E to H now How did everybody else go with this mod? |

Did anybody else try this mod? Pig040, Patzero et al? How did you all go with this. Beats all the band changing and did you all lose 25mhz and the top half of 29mhz as well?? Technical question only cos I don't know anyone who operates in 25mhz but the Hams would appreciate the rest of 29mhz. |

my S9 operates perfectly in the on-off-off-on mode. when i go on-off-on-off, i get wierd channel combos, bands repeated & the freq counter still does not light 6th digit on AM. to further confuse me, if i shut the radio off & diconnect power in on-off-on-off mode multiple times, each time i power it up, the 'wierd channel combos' & repeated bands change from the previous time. it gives me the impression there is a problem with JP2/program mode, but, at this point, it works fine in standard export mode, & since i don't have HF amateur privileges, 28 mhz & up is useless. don't talk much below 26.835, but will listen for exotic or just plain odd dx from just out of 12meters & up. |

Odd indeed. Sure you haven't got jpt2 and jpt4 instead of jpt1 and jpt3? If you try it again maje sure the bandswitch is in A position and see what happens. I find it great for the 5khz steps and smooth transistion between lower 40 and mid 40 bands. |
