I need a 3' antenna with magnetic mount but needs to be flexable if it hits overhead objects. I have a Little Wil now. Don't like it. Seems weak in the performace area. I was wondering how would a Astatic 3k would work with a magnetic mount base? Any other recomendations welcomed. Dan |

Danusee, The Astatic 3K would work great with a mag mount. BUT! it is 5'-5" tall and WILL NOT BEND if it hits over head objects. The Base Section is 1" around and 30-1/2" tall not conuting the Mag Mount and then add the Heavy Duty Stinger which is another 36" tall if you use one. The Astatic is one Heavy Duty well built antenna and you would need a 3 or 4 Magnet to even hold it upright. Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Thanks Tech808, I was thinking the Astatic 3k was overall 36". You cleared that up. My truck with a Little Wil already hits more than I want it to. Anyone know of a 3' magnetic mount antenna or any magnetic mount - antenna combination that will have good performance and bend when it hits overhead objects. Dan |

Isnt the Wilson 2000 or 5000 pretty flexible? I see alot of guys around my town use them on pick ups and have no problems. |

I know you said you wanted a 3' ant. But you can't get the performance out of a shorter ant like you can a taller one. Mount a 102" SS Whip to the bedrail. They are virtually indistructable!
