Click on qrz.com, scroll down on the left side of the screen to practice tests, click on that, when the window opens click on technician exam. the tests are 35 questions, of the 35 you must get 26 correct answers. These questions on the practice tests are the real thing that you will see on the actual technician test, there is no time limit. The best way to get it done is to test 3 to 4 times a day when ever you have time. I'm retired and had all the time I needed to study so I was testing 5 to 6 times daily. When you get so you are passing with an 80 percent most of the time you are ready to test before the VE panel in your local area. It's a good idea not to look up the answers in a book. On the actual test all you will have is a pencil and the test paper. Last year I was at a ham fest, that was doing testing and the VE panel had four 16 and 17 year old young men testing, all of them failed the test. They gave the story that they had gotten together for a week and studied the amateur radio books and thought they were ready to take the exam without once looking at the tests on qrz.com. Many of the people here on the forum have used the qrz.com method and most have passed the technician test the first time out and with a good score. Carl KD5SDM |
