i have recently aquired a couple of pieces of test equipment that i have no experience in using. i have a BK 1801 freq. counter, and a Leader LSG 16 signal generator. as i have never used a signal generator before, i could use some advice as to what's what on the front panel. i have no manuals with these. on the freq. cntr. there is a BNC connector on the front. and a switch that says, off, 1 sec., and auto. the cntr. came with an antenna for the BNC but no probe, so my questions are: is that input 50ohms or more like 1meg ohm. and what kind of probe do i need for it and where can i get one. can i make one? next is the signal generator. there are two inputs that look like 1/8" jacks, one red and one black and a set of binding posts also red and black labled output. there is a switch that reads, x-tal osc. (there is an input for a crystal) int.mod. (1khz) and ext.mod. and of course the big dial and position switch for the frequency ranges. so what goes where and does what with this thing. im very exicted to use it, but i dont want to overload a circuit. any help is much appreciated. matt |
