my new omega suddenly developed a roar in transmit this morning . i was talking to wife and as soon as i keyed up , she said it had a bad background roar . i put an olsd uniden in acc. jack and she said it was crystal clear .i turned talk back on , and she was right- bad .any idea if it would be mic or something in radio ? i,ve only hadd it about a month ,is the mic covered under warranty ? |

sounds like it's either a ground problem, or swr or both. if swr is ok, splice the black lead with a short piece of wire and attach the wire to one of the case screws (using a ring terminal if u have one). |

thanks lon , i think i got it . another fellow had same problem with s-6 , told me to remove mic and re install -- did this twice and no more problem. guess it wasn,t making good contact . found out this omega talks awesome with an old stock uniden mic i had laying around . |
