Can I post my most HATED ham radio here? If so, that would be my IC 208H. Yuk, I hate that radio. Anybody else have this rig? What's your opinion of it? Yes Bruce the 840 is a sweet rig, I went back and forth when I was looking for a budget all bander between the IC 718 and the 840. I settled on the 718 but after using a friends 840 I like it better. Not that the 718 is a bad radio, but I think the audio is better on the Yaesu. I have a ft-817 and really like that radio also. I just bought a Vx-150 and think I like it better than my ic-t2h. I think I'm becoming a Yaesu man. 73's all. sb106. |

HTX-252 it's a 2 meter mobile. I went thru 4 of them, brand new in the box from rat shack trying to get one that worked right. One wouldn't power on, 2 of them the PTT button was very difficult to keep pressed in hard enough to stay keyed up. Another one was a used return with scratches and missing stuff in the box. My solution was to take a good mic off of one dead one and put it with a different radio. Rat Shack was glad to see me leave finally. I run that radio now in my shack. It's a good radio if you can get one that actually works. Another not so favorite radio was an older DJ-180 Alinco 2 Meter HT. Only because you couldn't hear the audio very well in a moving car. Good rig but not alot of audio.
