RCI 2950DX V/S President Lincoln. I've read everything I could find about these radios but it's a tough decision. I've ran a Uniden HR2510 and a (older)2950 in the past and they both had problems with intermod, cross frequency rejection. That is, You're talking to someone on ch 10 and someone a mile or two away on say ch 27 would bleed thru ontop of your contact on ch 10 and wipe him out. Thus I sold my 2510 within days of buying it. And the 2950 was borrowed and given back to him pretty quick. ?Has this intermod/front end overload problem been cured in the Lincoln and the New 2950DX? Ears are important to me is why i'm looking at the Lincoln because of it's exceptional ears, but not if it has that old HR2510 intermod problem. Anyone have some input? The intend use would be mainly SSB on the upper freeband and also 10 and perhaps 12 meter SSB. I'm leaning toward the 2950DX but not if it's ears are weak. Anyone?

If you can find a Lincoln, buy it. Ive had 2 Lincolns and 3 2510s and never had a problem with channel rejection. The 2950s are good radios too. Just depends on your preferance. Ask Bruce about the mod for the receiver that will eleminate the channel bleed over problem. Copper Electronics has the kits available.

Nobodyknows, I would get a Lincoln while Copper still has them. Lon,I heard through the rumor mill, the Lincolns are still in production, but, no longer being imported to the states. If this is true, I wish I had the extra money so I can get another one. |

I saw that Copper has 3 in stock lastnight and thats what got me thinking.. But I do remember that 2510 I had and it's bleedy recieve. I live within 2 miles of I-35 / I-40 junction In OKC so I am more concerned with the recieve and it's ability to reject bleedover. Knowing my luck, Copper will sell those 3 lincolns in stock before I deciede which one I want. The wife is getting me the one I choose as a B-day present on the 1'st |

Bleedy receive? It's not quite the same as a Grant, but it's not bleedy. If you want to clean it up add a Channel Guard. I put them in all of my President HRs and it definitely helps with adjacent channel rejection. |
