Airplane1, Paul / Tech833 and Mr Coily have been talking quit a lot back and forth on the Antenna. When Tech833 has more information he will get it posted for the Copper Forum Members. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN

the enforcer is no more, kid. dan combined the design of the enforcer & excalibur, & rather then marketing a $250 & a $500 antenna, he now sells only a $489 antenna. not neccessarily a good decision from my standpoint-any thoughts of acquiring one have now been nixed |

I offered to BUY an antenna from Mr. Coily to review, but he was so backlogged, it would be impossible. My Coily's antenna appear well built from what I can see in pictures, but like you, I am anxious to see one in person before making any public comments about them. I have been emailing Mr. Coily with design suggestions on a 1/2 wave antenna that would not require any ground planes and be very stealth. This would be a direct competitor for the A99. We'll see what the future holds... |

I saw up close the Enforcer antenna this past August in Portland Oregon. That one was also already sold, but there for all to see. I am not an antenna Engineer like Tech 833, but from the casual observation, it was built extremely well. That's all I will say being it's easy for me to drool over the latest and greatest, and I doubt I could address it with subjectivity or near the correct experience level to be more than just another internet opinion. It was sharp looking for sure. Dan the builder was a real nice guy and has a lot of passion for building the best antenna he can. How will it stack up against Jay in the Mojave, Maco, IMAX....? Someday maybe we will have the opportunity to read from Tech 833. I will just say that in person, it was impressive to look at and you could tell he puts a lot of effort into making these well built and performance oriented. Alsworld |

i wonder if there would be a market for selling just the antenna base. you buy and add your own aluminum radiator and groundplane elements. seems to me this could be done for quite a profit considering the competition, and the cheap shipping would be a real bonus! ideas? opinions? flames? matt |

The aluminum tubing is the least expensive part of the whole thing. The base and mount fabrication and the R&D are what you are mostly paying for. |

thats what i figured. i guess if someone was willing to pay for that kind of antenna; they would want ALL the pieces. but couldnt a copy of the mr. coily design be fabricated for not too much $? i have some friends that run a metal shop, and they can tig ANYTHING. they do a lot of aluminum work, and i thought that if i could have them fabricate the bases for me, i could buy the tubing in bulk and make them. just riffing here... matt |

No news is often the best news. I heard somebody say that once and it probably applies here in this topic. |

My Friend has the enforcer with the welded radial supports. It is an extremely well built antenna. $450.00 in my opinion is way too expensive for what you get. Some radio shops are taking orders for them at $ 550.00 shipping included. I ordered the Interceptor 10k. never heard of any being broken and cheaper too. |
