Is an Emperor 5010 the same size as a DX chassis radio? Say a Ranger 2950, Galaxy 88 or Cobra 148?

Looking for a mounting bracket to order before my radio gets here.

747, the bracket from a 148 will fit the emperor like a glove. I've had both radio's and used to interchange brackets all the time. The bracket that came with the emperor was a 2 piece bracket and the 148 a single piece. Other than that, the holes that mount the radio to the bracket will line up properly and work just as good.

hope this helps

I think it's the size of a 2510 - which is a bit narrower and shorter than a 148.

The 5010 chassis is 7 3/4" Wide and 8 1/2" Deep. If you need more info just ask.

Be careful when you put in the screws that mount the radio to the bracket. The original screws were short and if you use longer ones they will get into the main board and break the traces on the edge of the board,an easy fix is to use washers on them.

Rob, if I remember correctly when I used long bolts, it not only broke a trace it grounded it out and caused a big repair bill.
So be carefull
