When using this radio, even on the low power position of 2.5 watts, after talking for some time the power starts to fall off until it is only transmitting less than one watt in that position. Not sure but may have been doing this since it was new as it has hardly been used, and only for a key or two until latley when I moved it to my base for some airtime. Antenna match is almost perfect. Any suggestion appreciated. |

Check the driver and final attachment screws to see that they're still snug, you might also check to see if one or the other has been replaced, enough heat sink grease may not have been used.Bigbob |

Thanks Bigbob. Final and driver look well secured and unmolested. Radio has only been used since new a couple times in deer season. Will have someone check the output transistors to see if one is defective. Do you know what would let it swing better RMS power out? Reads a lot of peak, but very little swing on RMS mode. |
