Help! Can anyone tell me how to lower my noise level. I have a Cobra 25LTD Classic. I've tried changing to antannae from a wilson 2000 to a 102 steel whip. I had a angle iron bracket welded to my frame behind the cab of my truck. and changed my coax and I still have a terrible noise level. I know its not from the motor be cause its the same with the motor off. Thanks in advance for any help you great people can provide. |

Have you tried to drive away from your home at least 5 miles and turn off the engine? I'll bet it is Power Line noise from High Voltage lines somewhere. If you unplug the antenna and the noise goes away , the radio is most likely OK and you have Power Line noise. Bad power tranformer or drop down somewhere in you'r area |

Well I guess I didn't specify. Sorry. This is in my 18-wheeler and I get this kind of noise level everywhere. At night it improves a little but not much. Thanks for the advice though. |

Graywolf I am having the same problem and I noticed that when I unplugged the antenna ( to try another one ) the noise stopped until I plugged in the other antenna. Matt |
