If all 29 volumes of Secret CB were in Adobe Acrobat format for searching and catagorizing , hand typed , NOT scanned , and all the "oops we goofed" sections corrected , all the pictures (Black and white as well as the colored ones including the covers) re-done and all this cataloged for rapid hot links within the disk on a single CD , would you buy one for say....$99.00? |

Secret CB was a monthly book(hard back magazine) that was published by Selman Enterprizes in Texas. It was written by techs all over the states and compiled together in book form for the CB'r. It covered everything with little "repeats" like the books of today. Hacking , tuning , secrets , adjustments , customs , toys , and a ton more. Each volume had hundreds of entries. Selman quit publishing Secret CB at volume 29 (1990) because of what I heard (heart trouble). I wrote many mods in it myself for years. I am in the process of finding out if I can take over the copy rights and re-publish it on CD form... |

$99.00 is a good price, i may know some buyers if it includes newer radios. like the newer uniden grant xl, cobra radios, ect. $99.00 is cheap. what about starting your own on a second cd and have new mods on it for the newer radios? could be a package deal? or offer them separate? you would have to charge more for the second cd. yes it would be great to have that on cd. |

Okay here's another question for you all. If Copper was to put together a KLV amplifier book with ALL the KL/KLV amps from the KL40 all the way up, including, pics, parts lists, schematics, mods, output powers, and a brief review on each, would you pay $29.99 for it? It would be like the other books but ONLY include the KL/KLV amplifier line. Complete documentation and comparisons for all of their amps in one book! Post your responses here please. Tech181 I would buy the KL Amp book as long as it covered the VHF and UHF models also. Since there isn't to much to these amps to begin with, I'm thinking the book wouldn't be very thick. And speaking of the KL Amps, I ordered 3 of the KL-300's from Copper and was amazed to see that they were able to do close to 300 watts on sideband with a 20 watt drive into my Yaesu load with only a pair of 1446s in them. And not only that, they have light, "if I remember correctly", #12 gauge wire for the power leads along with light, "I DON'T remember", fuses. How can that be done and still get the results that I got from my Bird... Is it time for a meter recalibration? Jeff, kc0gxz. |

Hoosiercardinal, Yes, for the $25.00 that would have been a GREAT deal. Here about 8 or 9 months ago I seen a set 1 - 27 on ebay and bidding was around $130 or so at the time. Then, I talked with Tech 307 and he said GET THEM! Well the 1st Sargant got them for me and the final bill was around $300.00 for the set. I was lucky enough to get copies of Volume 28 & 29 to complete the set. All of them were in Like New Condition. With the Information they have on almost all ot the older radio's they were Well worth it. Maybe I will get lucky enough to find the Original 28 & 29 to replace my copies. Just my thought's. Kc0gxz, Try this link below for information on the KL Amps: http://www.rmitaly.com/default.asp It will let you download all/most of the Schematics for each one made. With HF,VHF,UHF, and all of the Products & Accessories they make it would be a large book. Hope this help's. Lon Tech808 |
