The radio I planned to purchase next was the Magnum S9. But since I've been told that the 73 is being discontinued and I was trying to collect one of all the Galaxy radios, maybe I should snatch one up now. Why are they stopping this radio? Isn't it the same radio as the 99 just single final instead of dual finals? |

Therealporkchop, Why not give Galaxy a call and ask them? Then you can let us all know why. Galaxy Radios & Texas Star Units Consumer Electronics 243 S. Escondido Blvd. #523 Escondido, Ca. 92025 1-760-480-8800 Off hand I could only guess it is because of lack of sales. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN

Thanks 808, I'll do just that. I knew Pat and BC were going to give me one. Thanks for not letting me down. Remember my next radio purchase is suppose to be a S9. I hope either of you don't end up with a box of pieces... |

come on now, pork, if you read all of my posts regarding that subject, i'm giving you every different scenario i can think of to let YOU MAKE THE DECISION! THE S9 DECISION! but in fairness & with all good intentions, i will admit a galaxy has it's place in some peoples lives.(JUST NOT MINE!) seriously, though, read all my comments to you & make the decision based on how YOU will use it, not neccessarily how i use mine. you gotta live with it-i already live happily with mine!. the S9 i guarantee is not worthy of taking a hammer to, EVEN if you were to feel that for some unknown reason it didn't do what you want it to, you would be so impressed with it's receiver that you'd find a use for it, then it would grow on ya, you'd tweak it, put a big mean power mic on it, get a texas star dx 500 &....SORRY! it's like an old cadillac eldorado vs lincoln town car, the same but different. wherever your preferences lie, or live on the edge & try something new. the only way that could go wrong was by buying the yugo to save some bucks! |

YUGO!!!??? I remember those pieces of #%*!. Friend of mine bought one and the first day he owned it the handle broke off when he rolled down the window! I swear each time he hit a bump or pot hole something broke off on that car. These Indiana seasons wreak havoc on our roads and the car only lasted I think 2 years. By then it had so many bungee straps and duct tape on it and bailing wire I think he finally drove it off into the White River. |

Well...I'm going to the S9 side. I sold my 48, 44, and getting ready to part with my 33 to fund the S9 experience. Watt for watt, I think the 95T will out-do the S9, but the S9 is a much better looking radio. I don't give thumbs up for the Galaxy receive, even after putting mine on my 2040 many times. I can't get over the static and . But the S9 will be coming soon... |

150 vs. 40...you'll know the S9 is trying to get through. 40 vs. 40-S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9. and you can hear the guy giving you the signal report when you're on the S9. on the galaxy, all you hear is SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH |

come on now, we'll take an innocent victim-i mean bystander-mikefromms. without coaxing, cajoling or even threatening from me or bc, he said the receive on the 95t wasn't as good as on the magnum... looking over what few posts i could find here, & quite a few others on (GAG) other forums, the general consensus is the receive of the 95t is noisy & not the most sensitive out there. maybe there is a new tweaked super-chassis ept6900super out there? as we've already established, it is against my religion to own a galaxy, & i can't find anyone who wants to buy a 95t so the easiest solution-buying 1-ain't happening. from what i've read, all of the last 2 full generations of ept 3600 & 6900 boards, plus what's in store in the near future of 6900 boards is NOT a hot receiver. but, hey, if yours hears good, that's why you have it, right? still no galaxy's here, though |

Just got my S9 and I'll have to say I still heard some of that SSSSSSSHHHHHHHH. Maybe it was just because of the skip, but I don't know. Regardless....S9 is now my new choice and look down at my soapbox....is that S9 I see painted on there?? |
