I finally descided to move my TOP ONE up to 30' so while we were in town , I stopped to get guy wire and brackets . I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS cb THING FOR YEARS , AND AM ALWAYS THINKING , IF i GET THIS ONE MORE THING IN LINE OR CHANGE THIS OR THAT , i WILL HAVE THINGS THE WAY i WANT IT . It never has happened !! Anyway , my wife asked me ( what will you do , if you should ever get things just like you want them ? ) The only thing I could come up with was (I GUESS I WOULD GET TRREIBLY BORED ) It is a a scary thought !!! |

Scary thought, you bet. I've been working on getting it right since 1963 and haven't been able to get it done yet. Always something new comes along and gets in the way of perfection. Carl CEF-357 |

Getting things "just like I want it" will cause my expectations to be immediately (or just prior to getting to that state) raised. It's dog chansing it's own tail.... I will never get there. Ken. P.S. Just once, I'd like to see a dog slowly turn around, bite his tail gently and be happy. That would be a really smart doggie. Ken. |

I'm completely satisfied that there will be no more changes till I can get about 3 guys(that don't exist)to help me drop my pdl-2 and put up my whitelightning,THEN I will be satisfied with my setup,my wife will be satified when I clean my radio room and put it in order(never happen). |

1861 your right. My setup is how I want it. I may buy a big amp someday but On sideband what for ya know? I need to go barefoot and forget a bout it. Anyway I look for things to keep me un bored. Like I was wondering if anyone suffers from my same problem.........Will I ever get my Imax on a pushup pole perfectly straight? Just when I think its perfect I go on the other side and its crooked, maybe I'm on a hill. Maybe I'm just crazy and got CB on the brain. |

Hotwire, The Easiest way to get it straight at the base or the antenna is to take a 4' level up with you and get your mast pipe straight that you mount the Imax or any Omni on. A 4' level is also a major help when installing a tower to get the base section straight before you pour the concrete and add the other tower section's. Hope this help's, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN

Crazy as it may seem, with all the sideband radios I have. I just want to try a Magnum-257 just to see how close it is to it's country cousins the Sidewinder-400 or Blackhawk. Over the years I've had two Sidewinder-400s and both from Copper at a great price, wish I still had one of them to compare it to the Magnum-257. I agree with Bruce, if the station is complete and the way I want it to be, better check for that pulse. And just when you thought you were getting close to perfection. Carl CEF-357 |

It will never happen, just when you think that you almost have everything set; you find something else. It never fails. Just tell the xyl that this "hobby" is a never-ending project.

You know it's good hobby for you, if you love it and just can't quite see the horizon. Don't worry about the destination, there is no such place. It's all about the fun you have while going......hmmm what's that shiny thing over there. ;) Rich
